John’s Tart
By: John (Sep 19 2022)We are honoured to publish our dear Treasurer’s recipe for his mouth watering slice. It is simply called “John’s Tart”.
Preheat oven to: 120 degrees
Base: 1 packet of “No Frills” Vanilla Cake Mix ‘Franklins’ 340 grams – cost approx 84c
1 cup of Coconut and 200 grams Margarine – melt in Microwave approx 70 seconds
Now combine and pat flat into a dish measuring approx 7″ x 12″
Bake until a golden brown – approx 12 to 15 minutes.
Topping: 1 punnet sour lite cream (‘Pura’ 300 ml)
1 tin Apple Pie Fruit – 375 ml ‘Ardmona’ <800 ml makes 2 tarts> and 2 eggs
Combine and spread over the base while the base is still hot
Sprinkle Nutmeg over the top and bake for a further 12 to 15 minutes.
It is best to let cool, cover with Glad wrap and store in the refrigerator overnight.
Cut into fingers and enjoy
